Happy New Year! It’s the 1st January 2016 and I’m probably still in bed recovering from last night’s fun and frolics with the girls, but I’m sure it was worth it!!! It’s hard to believe that 2015 is officially over and we can now all start afresh for 2016. But before I share with you all my goals, hopes and dreams for this year – that’s coming tomorrow. Let me share with you all the 15 things I learned in 2015:
- Hard work, dedication and commitment pay off. Without this blog and my passion for all things digital I wouldn’t be in my dream job.
- Although it can be painful, you need to let go of toxic things in your life. Whether it’s a relationship or your job, if it’s not making you happy then it’s OK to walk away.
- Do what makes YOU happy. No one else can look out for you like you can, so be selfish and do what will make YOU happy.
- You need to learn to love yourself before you can expect someone else to. Having come out of a long and difficult relationship this year, this is so true. Before I could let someone else into my life, I had to learn how to be OK with being on my own and loving myself enough to let someone else love me.
- There is no such thing as too much makeup. Although my dressing table is bursting full of beauty products, there’s always room for more.
- It’s OK to not live in a Pinterest worthy home. Although I aspire for my home to be Pinterest worthy, it’s OK that it’s not there yet.
- With the right shoes, you can conquer the world. Or you know, just the day ahead.
- It’s OK to take a break. Whether that’s a break from work, blogging or your loved ones. We all need a little me time to recharge the batteries.
- You can never own enough nude palettes. Most of my palette collection is made up of nude palettes but there’s always room for at least one more.
- You don’t have to Instagram every part of your life. Some things are allowed to be private. After all, sometimes the ones who are creating a ‘perfect’ life are actually the most miserable.
- Never under estimate the power of a good night’s sleep. A comfortable bed is one of the most important purchases you’ll make in your life.
- Don’t save things for best or a special occasion. Everyday should be special. So wear the expensive makeup, spritz the fabulous perfume and drink the good wine.
- A little exercise won’t kill you, but no exercise might.
- Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift, that’s why they call it the present.
- Life is short, so drink the champagne, love hard and buy the dress!
So these have been the 15 things I learned in 2015, what did you learn last year?
