Now I don’t know about you. But I think it’s fair to say that we’re all a little selfie obsessed. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good hair day, a new lipstick I want to show off, or a cool location I want to snap. There’s no denying that the selfie is here to stay. And like most of us, I embrace the fun that involves taking 35 different pictures and then picking my favourite one. After all, selfies allow us to control how we want the image to look. Portraying our features in the best light possible. And in light of our obsession and being part of the selfie generation, here are my top three tips on taking the perfect selfie every time:
It’s all about the angles
I think it goes without saying that angles are everything when talking a selfie. If you take a picture straight on, it makes your face look rounder than it already is. And your skin look pretty flat. Which is no good for a selfie. And the reason so many of us tend to turn our head to a slight angle and push our chins out subtly. Is to create a little definition. So play around with the angle that suits you for a perfect selfie every time.
Go high
As I’ve said, angles are everything. And I’m pretty sure we’ve all experienced the horror of opening up the camera app on our phone, only to find the camera facing us and showing off our multiple chins! Which is why the higher the better for selfies. Lifting the camera above eye level helps create definition. And your face can even appear slimmer. Plus holding your phone higher allows more natural light into your pics. And everyone looks better in natural light.
Filter It Out
Again this goes without saying. Filters are your best friend. Using a filter can really help to highlight areas that make you look fab and add a subtle glow to your skin. And if in doubt, add a pair of dogs ears or a gold crown. Everyone looks better with a good Snapchat or Instagram filter.
Those were my tips, but if want to know how to take the perfect selfie, then check out the guide from My trendy Phone below. And thank me later.
