Birchbox UK February 2016

Birchbox UK February 2016

When it comes to beauty boxes, I hadn’t subscribed to one in so long. I used to think they were quite expensive for what they were and I just to end up with hundreds of samples that I never used. But recently I’ve been looking to subscribe again and have been looking at which ones might be worth my money. There are definitely more on the market since I first started subscribing to one but I decided to turn to the trusty Birchbox. Especially when I saw that this month they have a LOC pencil and a full size Spectrum brush. Both of which I’ve been looking to try for months now. Plus it helped that a certain daily deal site was offering 50% discount on a six month subscription.

February’s Birchbox theme is ‘Shine Bright like a Diamond’ and it certainly is an amazing box. First of all, I love the design of the box, although I never know what to do with the empty boxes I feel like I should find somewhere for this beauty to go, it’s just too pretty to throw away. Inside are five items and a beauty bonus, depending on your beauty profile will depend on the products you receive. So in my box were:

Spectrum Collections Tapered Powder Brush (RRP £7.99)

This is probably the main reason I ordered the box. I’ve been wanting to try Spectrum brushes for so long and absolutely love the colour and design of this. It’s incredibly soft and can be used for so many different types of powder. From bronzer and setting powder, to blush and highlight, this is a multi purpose brush that I have a feeling I will really love.

LOC One and Done Shadow Stick (RRP £8)

As well as the full sized Spectrum brush, this month’s Birchbox also contained a full sized shadow stick in either Champagne Problems or Perfect Cents. I went for Champagne Problems which is a gorgeous silvery taupe colour. I have high hopes for this product and really can’t wait to try this.

Doux Me Comforting Face Mask and Exfoliator (Full size £18)

I’ve never heard of this brand before but this is a really lovely face mask and exfoliator. With hints of apricot oil, camomile and marshmallow extracts this mask smells amazing and I have high hopes of it leaving my skin feeling smooth and refreshed.

Number 4 Lumeire d’hover Super Comb Prep & Protect (Full size £20)

This spray claims to strengthen and repair my hair as well as de-tangle and tame flyaways, which is the kind of hair product I need in my life, so I’m excited to try it.

Cochine Water Hyacinth & Lime Blossom Hand & Beauty Lotion (Full size £19)

I’ve not tried this brand before either but who doesn’t love a hand and body lotion? It smells gorgeous with hints of shea butter, aloe vera and lime blossom. Plus the mini bottle is perfect for travelling.

L. Ericsson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder (Set of 5 £11.50)

Again, this is another brand that I hadn’t hear of until I opened the beauty box. But I love that they don’t sag my hair or loose their shape so I think I’ll definitely be picking up a five pack of these beauties.
