Matte is the new black. Well according to Clinique it is. And this new dreamy lip combination from Clinique is all about the matte. Personally, when it comes to the lips, I love a matte finish and right now I’m obsessed with pale lips. And ever since the Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer launched a few months I’ve been wanting to try the new formula. And it has not disappointed! In fact ever since these two landed on my doorstep, I’ve not used anything else since. Not only do they look great on their own – but I’ve also been pairing them together for an ultra-matte look on the lips. So if you want to join the trend with matte lips, here are my thoughts on these two from Clinique:
Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer ‘Peony Pop’
If you’re looking for a weightless but highly pigmented matte formula then this is the lipstick for you. With a built-in primer, this creamy matte formula feels more like a super-soft balm on the lips. And it lasts for an impressive eight hours! There are a huge 16 shades to choose from but my favourite is Peony Pop – a gorgeous pale pink.
Clinique Pop Liquid Matte Lip Colour + Primer ‘Cake Pop’
So this is more of a hybrid liquid lipstick. It has the shine and feel of a gloss but the staying power of a lipstick. Again this has an incredibly moisturising formula with a built-in primer to provide a smooth, even glide across the lips. With eight shades to choose from, they have it all – from deep plums to pale nudes. For me, I love Cake Pop – a pale dusty pink.
