Now regular readers of this blog will know that I’ve been blogging pretty much consistently for the past six years. I often joke that this blog has been the ONE consistent thing in my life over the past six years. It’s lasted longer than any romantic relationship or any job I’ve had. But like most things, it’s not been an easy commitment. There’s been countless times that I’ve just not felt like blogging. It’s like I’ve lost my mojo. And despite this happening quite a few times over the years, the last time it happened I did something different.
Rather than stop blogging – which is what I normally do. I decided to seek help in giving me the kick up the (fat) ass I needed. I took matters into my own hands and enlisted the help of a blog coach, blogging books and the number one blog magazine – Blogosphere.
BLOG COACHING
Now quite a few bloggers are now offering a blog coaching service. But for me, there was only one lady I wanted to turn to when I needed some much needed advice, clarity and motivation. And that was Vix. Now I’m sure most of you will be aware of Vix. Not only does she have her hilarious blog. But she also runs the Exciting Emails podcast and newsletter. As well as offering coaching. Which I have to say was brilliant. I left feeling incredibly motivated to take blogging to the next level as a hobby. Sometimes all you need is a fresh pair of eyes on your blog to help you nail your niche and give you some much needed ideas for what you should be writing about.
BOOKS
Now quite a few bloggers also have books that you can download to help you grow your blog. Or following. Or both. But for me, I went for ‘Blogging your way to riches’ by Emma Bradley and Lynn James. Now, I don’t believe that reading this will bring my riches – although that would be nice. I went for the book more to hear from both of them on their experiences in blogging. And what happened on their journeys before they took their blogs full time.
BLOGOSPHERE MAGAZINE
And finally Blogosphere magazine. Now those of you who do blog will probably be aware of this magazine. It’s essentially the number one magazine for bloggers, and it’s brilliant. It;s full of articles, insights and thoughts on topics that matter to us bloggers. Plus, it’s a great way to discover new bloggers and find out more about our favourite ones. I only wish it was weekly rather than quarterly!
What’s helped you get your blog mojo back?
