My Ordinary Skincare routine

My Ordinary Skincare routine

Now I think you must have been living under a rock if you’ve not heard of The Ordinary skincare products. Ever since they first launched, they’ve been making waves in the skincare world for all the right reasons. They’re bringing high-quality ingredients to the market but at an incredibly affordable price. And I’m obsessed. The only downside, their products can be slightly confusing. With no directions on the packaging, it can be hard to know which products to use and in which order. The Ordinary is really marketed towards the informed beauty and skincare obsessive. You have to really know your skin and what you want, to get the most about of these products. Which is why I wanted to share with my Ordinary skincare routine.

Now I should start by saying that these products work for me and my skin type. Which is oily/combination skin, that is also trying to fight against the first signs of ageing. So if this is you, let me share my Ordinary Skincare routine.

MORNING

Now I’ll admit, I don’t have a lot of time in the mornings, so my skincare routine tends to be quite quick, but also effective for setting my skin up for the my makeup. So after cleansing and toning my face, it’s time to add the serums. And for me I start with Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%For me, this serum helps to reduce oil production, leaves my skin soft and smooth and matte. While also improving the appearance of any blemishes. Before moving onto Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. This lightweight serum works to re-hydrate your skin on a multi-depth level. With three types of hyaluronic acid at varying levels with Vitamin B5, this serum really does offer your skin lasting hydration and visible plumping. And then to finish the morning routine, I moisturise.

EVENING

Now moving onto the evening part of my skincare routine. Again, I cleanse and tone as I would do in the morning and then start by applying Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion aka Vitamin A. Now seeing as Vitamin A is what dermatologist and doctors prescribe for anti-ageing, you know that this Retinoid is going to work. It’s clinically proven to help your skin resist and reverse the signs of ageing. You just need to make sure you’re wearing SPF the next day as it’s sensitive to light. Next up is 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed OilFor me, as this is a dry oil, it really helps to balance my skin’s oil production overnight. Helping to hydrate and support healthy skin. It also helps to calm any redness, treat scars and brighten your skin.

And then I only use this a couple of times a week, but AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is an absolute must for me. It’s an exfoliating peel that leaves your skin looking brighter and your complexion looking clearer. Continued use can also help reduce pore congestion and fine lines. Just make sure you use it at night, and that the following day you apply a good SPF.

You can find all the Ordinary products on Beauty Bay right now, and if they weren’t already affordable enough. Beauty Bay also have a sale on!
