For years face masks were one of those products that I swore I would use more of, but never seemed to. I’m not sure why, but it’s only in the past year or so that I’ve started to get into a routine of using them regularly. And now that I’m in that routine and a big fan of them, I thought I’d share with you all my top three face masks.
The one that I’ve been using a lot lately is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, and that’s because my skin has been feeling really dry. Unlike other masks out there, this one is a clear cream with an almost gel-like consistency. You apply a thick layer as the final step in your evening skincare routine, go to bed and in the morning, your skin has quite literally ‘drunk’ up the moisturising goodness. After using this mask I find that my skin look and feel nourished, which is what I need.
As a big fan of French pharmacy products, I couldn’t do a post like this and not include the amazing Nuxe Paris 24hr Soothing and Rehydrating Fresh Mask. This is quite a creamy mask that is packed full of macadamia seed oil, aloe leaf juice powder, sunflower seed oil, coconut extract and other plant milks that nourish and moisturise the skin. I use this mask most weeks, and all you need to do is apply a generous amount on your face and then leave for 10 minutes. Then either massage the rest of the product into your skin, or use a toner to remove the excess cream. As the product says, after using this, my skin does feel smoother and rehydrated.
Finally on my list is the Elemis Tri Enzyme Gel Mask, which is pretty new to me. As you can see I only have a small sample size of this, but it’s made a big impact so far. Like the name suggests this a gel based mask that feels lovely and cooling on the skin. It does tingle a little, but in a good way. The mask is packed full of enzymes which help to smooth the skin’s surface and combat shine by balancing the pH level of the skin. I probably use this about a once a week and always find that my skin feels much softer and even, it’s also stopped my skin feeling as oily as it normally does. Which is pretty impressive.
So these have been my top three face masks, what are your favourite face masks?
