Now I don’t know about you. But for me, makeup is more than just products to hide blemishes or cover imperfections. I don’t wear makeup for other people. I don’t wear it because I think it’ll make me more attractive to guys. Nor do I wear it because I can’t stand to see my bare face. I wear it because I love makeup. I love playing with makeup to create new looks. And I’m not ashamed to admit that I feel like me when I have makeup on. And I’m sure I’m not alone in this. I’m sure fellow makeup and beauty enthusiasts will agree with the power that makeup has in being able to change our mood and attitude, along with our appearances.
Which is why I’m excited by Sleek Makeup’s new campaign. My Face. My Rules. We’ve all seen the increase in makeup shaming over the years. And you may have even experienced it yourself. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been told that I ‘wear too much makeup’. But the new campaign from Sleek Makeup is their way of positively recognising everyone’s right to define their own beauty, without boundaries. They’re teamed up with the anti-bullying charity Ditch The Label to celebrate the individualism and uniqueness that makeup brings. We’re seeing a lot of this happening in the beauty industry at the moment and in my view. This is only a positive thing.
The campaign stars Sleek Makeup customers, that majority of whom who were cast via social media. And shows, not only their skills but also their responses to the judgment they’ve faced because of the makeup they wear. Whether you choose to wear a full face of makeup complete with lashes and a red lip. Or choose to embrace your natural beauty by going bare-faced. It’s your face. Your rules.
