With Spring hopefully making an appearance very soon – well it is March after all. I thought I’d share with you all my Spring foundation picks. As I’ve mentioned numerous times before I don’t like a heavy foundation and much prefer a lighter formula for my foundations, especially as we’re heading into warmer weather -fingers crossed.
So let’s start with one of my latest discoveries and that is the Bare Skin Foundation from Sleek Makeup. This promised to give a lightweight, natural feel for a foundation. And it does. I find the texture of this foundation to be pretty similar to a BB cream or tinted moisturiser, and although it is a lightweight formula, the coverage is buildable. I also found it to be incredibly moisturising, and brilliant at evening out my skin tone and keep my skin feeling nourished. When wearing this my skin not only looks illuminated and healthy but it gives the appearance that you’re not actually wearing any foundation. It doesn’t create any unnecessary shine or oil, just a breathable, healthy glow.
Next up is the Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint. I find this formula to be quite creamy and heavier than your average tinted moisturisers, but the finish isn’t heavy at all. In fact you get a dewy, sheer and ever so slightly illuminating finish. As a light weight skin tint, it doesn’t slide over your face and is absorbed effortlessly into the skin. I find that I do have to work a little harder with blending this in, but the results are lovely. I find it gives my skin a nice amount of warmth, which is perfect for these grey days. It’s made with Borage and Avocado oils which help to lock in moisture and has the added benefit of SPF 15. The finish is natural, long lasting and with it being from the skincare gods that are Liz Earle, I feel that it is doing my skin good by using this in place of my regular moisturiser.
Finally it’s the turn of the Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream. The texture of this is pretty light and more like a tinted moisturiser than your normal heavier foundation. It’s no surprise really, as Bourjois are known for taking a good coverage product and making the formula lighter than air. I found that on the skin, this felt almost undetectable and it definitely lives up to Bourjois hydration claims, however, if like me you have oily skin, then you’ll need to use a primer underneath to lock the cream in place. I’ve really love to wear this in the warmer months as it makes my skin look and feel fresh with a lovely even finish.
So these have been my Spring foundation picks, what are yours?
