Are snail’s the secret ingredient to younger looking skin?

The SkinChemists Advanced Snail Range

The anti-ageing skincare market is huge. There hundreds if not thousands of products out there all claiming to help you turn back the years. And some of them contain pretty unusual ingredients. From bee venom face creams to placenta face masks, it seems brands are always looking for the ‘secret ingredient’ to younger looking skin. But what is the secret ingredient? And more importantly, is there one? Well according to the SkinChemists, snail’s might be the secret ingredient to younger looking skin.

Their Advanced Snail Range is formulated with poly-helixan, a powerful natural and ecological active ingredient that’s derived from the defensive liquid secreted by snails. Now that’s a lovely image! But apparently it aims to protect and regenerate the skin whilst delaying the visible signs of ageing.

I’ve been trying out two of their moisturisers over the past few weeks and while I’m not sure they’re halting the aging process for me. They are leaving my skin feeling softer, smoother and more nourished. The Day Moisturiser leaves my skin feeling protected and hydrated throughout the day. It’s formulated with Tiare Flower Extract combined with coconut oil which work together to hydrate, soothe and repair the skin.

With a mixture of Vitamin E to boost the skin’s hydration, Coconut Oil to re-balance the skin’s natural pH levels and Creatine to provide deep moisturisation, the Night Moisturiser works to revive and regenerate my skin while I sleep.

I find both of these products sink into my skin supper quickly. Neither leave my skin feeling oily, or greasy. In fact the Day Moisturiser is a great base for my makeup in the mornings and the Night Moisturiser is not only deeply hydrating but it also leaves my skin feeling firmer.

Each product is £72 and is available from the SkinChemists website.
