Try Tuesday from Marks & Spencers

Merry Musing Try Tuesday

Now I don’t know about you. But shopping can be tough. As much as I love looking spending a day wandering around the shops. I’m also guilty of just picking up the same pieces. Which for me is nearly ALWAYS a grey top. Normally a jumper, but sometimes a t-shirt. You know, because it’s good to change it up every now and then. But in all seriousness, I’m probably in a style rut. If I do try to be brave and step outside my comfort zone, I never quite know how to wear something a bit bolder. I guess what I really need is a stylist to come shopping with me. As I’m pretty sure I can’t make one move in with me and pick my outfits out for me every morning. Becuase let’s be honest, that would be the dream!

But for those of us who are stuck in a style rut, it seems M&S have come up with the perfect solution. Try Tuesday. A free personal style and inspiration service for those of us that need a little style shakeup. Deep within the M&S offices is a team of stylists known as Tuesday (because Tuesday is apparently the day of the week we are most open to trying something new – who know?), offering an online ‘style inspiration service’. Which is completely free and open to every M&S customer and incredibly easy to use.

All you have to do is sign up, answer a few questions about your wardrobe, body shape and lifestyle. And then they assign a stylist. And it’s actually a real person! All of them have backgrounds in fashion, from styling models for editorial shoots to dressing celebs on the red carpet. And every few weeks they send through a style edit tailored to you directly to your inbox. Making shopping and stepping outside your comfort zone that little bit easier.

I tried the service a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised with their picks. Now not all of them were for me. While head to toe might be on trend. I’m, just not sure red is my colour. But I love the simple but stylish look of these jeans, shoes and jacket. It’s perfect for me to wear to the office or out for brunch and drinks at the weekend. Which is just what I wanted. And the monthly style edit emails ensure I’m not staying in my style rut of grey jumpers and Converse.

Jacket £29.50 | Jeans £19.50 | Shoes £35

What do you think of the Try Tuesday service from Marks & Spencers? Is it something that you’d use to step outside your comfort zone?
