I have just come back from the most amazing two days away in York. Me and the boy decided to book a little mini break and I’m so glad that we did. We got the train at 9.30am last Wednesday morning and by 11.30am we were walking around the old part of York trying to find our hotel.
Let me start by telling you about the hotel, which was just amazing. It is probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. We stayed in the Cedar Court Grand Hotel and Spa and although it was more than we would normally spend on a night away. It was absolutely worth it. The hotel itself was originally built as the Yorkshire headquarters of the North Eastern Railway, but has since been transformed into York’s first five star hotel and the only five star hotel in Yorkshire.
During our time in York, we visited the Railway Museum, The Jorvick Centre, the York Minister, walked the walls and took our very own boat up and down the river Ouse. Not too mentioned ate far too many cakes and scones along the way.
So here is my York photo diary. I hope you enjoy!
