There aren’t many things that I like to hang on to, in fact I really don’t place a lot of sentimental value onto my belongings. When it comes to clothing I can be pretty ruthless with throwing out clothes that I haven’t worn in six months. But when it comes to beauty I just can’t throw things away. It’s official I’m guilty of being a beauty hoarder.
I have more blushes, foundations, mascaras and eye shadows than I could use. Although I am lucky enough to be sent products to review, I do buy as much, if not more than I’m sent. Even if I didn’t write this beauty blog, I’m sure my spending habits would be similar. It’s not the money I have an issue with. After all, if you can afford why no? There are far worse things to spend money on, but it’s the need to hang onto certain products for no real reasons that bothers me.
I worry that owning as many nude lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes as I do will become overwhelming. As someone who loves a clear, organised space having drawers and drawers and more drawers filled with beauty products should freak me out. But it doesn’t.
Every now and then I do have a clear out. And if the product has changed in fragrance, texture or consistency then I’m quick to get rid of it. But otherwise, the products stay in my drawers only to be used occasionally. I mean I do only have one face, yet enough makeup to do makeovers on hundreds if not thousands of fellow beauty enthusiasts. But what can I say, I love beauty products.
