A Bedroom refresh

A Bedroom refresh

Now I don’t know about you. But my bedroom is my sanctuary. It’s where I go to truly relax and chill out. And it’s the one area I’m always looking to improve. I guess I’m just never satisfied! And I don’t know about you. But I’m constantly being influenced by the people I see on Instagram or the ideas I find on Pinterest. I just don’t seem to have a big enough house, or an endless supply of money to do all the things I want! This is why I decided to do a little up-cycle and a bedroom refresh.

So as you may know from this post. I originally refreshed my bedroom back in August 2018. And while I still like the pink and blue, although I am definitely open to changing it soon, I just wanted to do some little changes that would make a difference. So rather than buy new lamps. And new bedside tables. I opted to do a little up-cycle instead using gold spray paint.

Now I feel like I should say that I’ve never done anything like this before. I had a grand idea about five years ago to paint some old pine furniture. And it was probably one of the worst ideas I’ve ever had! I had no idea what I was doing. It took so much longer than I thought it would. And when it was finished I didn’t even like them anymore.

But times have changed, and this time I decided to opt for spray painting smaller things. Rather than painting furniture. First up were my bedside lamps. Now I still really like these. But I wasn’t as keen on the rose gold stand. So I ordered some gold spray paint off Amazon and got to work spray painting them.

Now as someone who has never spray painted anything in their life. I was surprised at how easy it was. And how good the results are. As I don’t have any outside space. I ended up placing the lampstands in a giant cardboard box and spray painting them in that. It worked a treat.

So after the success of the bedside table lampstands. I went in for the draw knobs on the bedside tables. Again, I used a cardboard box and placed them in to spray paint them. Best of all, the spray paint covered both the lampstands and the draw knobs in one can.

The final part of the bedroom refresh came in the form of changing the light switches. Now, these were horrible white plastic light switches that were as old as the property. Now, they are shiny and new thanks to the new light switches that came from Elesi. I have to admit, that I’m not the most confident when it comes to electrics. But honestly. these were so easy to install. And best of all, I love the screwless look.

So there you have it. That’s my bedroom refresh. Let me know in the comments what you think of these new changes. And what refreshes you’re planning for your bedroom.
