As you would have seen I reviewed the COLAB Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo last month and quite a few of you asked me if I’d tried the Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo as a lot of you love this product. So I decided to try the Batiste version and put it head to head with the COLAB one to see which one gave my hair more volume, more bounce and most importantly, worked well as a dry shampoo.
Now before we begin, if you’ve never tried any extreme volume dry shampoos then it’s worth noting that they do feel differently to regular dry shampoos. I can only assume the ingredient for volume must have a different texture, which means you will be able to feel it in your hair. You won’t be able to run your fingers through it easy but it will look good!
When looking at the packaging both are pretty similar, the Batiste version costs £3.99 for 200ml while the COLAB one costs £4.49 for 200ml. And to be honest, both have incredibly similar results. In fact, I’m struggling to tell the difference between the two pictures…can you?
So here is my hair with Batiste in it.
And here is my hair with Colab in it.
Both worked well at giving me a little lift at the root, making my hair look bouncy through the ends and also leaving my hair looking clean. Which is what I want from a dry shampoo.
Out of the two I prefer the smell of the COLAB version but prefer the texture from the Batiste one. So is there a winner? Not really, these are both great volumising dry shampoos that are well worth the money.
Have you tried either dry shampoo, which one is your favourite?
