As you would have seen I reviewed the COLAB Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo last month and quite a few of you asked me if I’d tried the Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo as a lot of you love this product. So I decided to try the Batiste version and put it head to head with the COLAB one to see which one gave my hair more volume, more bounce and most importantly, worked well as a dry shampoo.
Now before we begin, if you’ve never tried any extreme volume dry shampoos then it’s worth noting that they do feel differently to regular dry shampoos. I can only assume the ingredient for volume must have a different texture, which means you will be able to feel it in your hair. You won’t be able to run your fingers through it easy but it will look good!
When looking at the packaging both are pretty similar, the Batiste version costs £3.99 for 200ml while the COLAB one costs £4.49 for 200ml. And to be honest, both have incredibly similar results. In fact, I’m struggling to tell the difference between the two pictures…can you?
So here is my hair with Batiste in it.
And here is my hair with Colab in it.
Both worked well at giving me a little lift at the root, making my hair look bouncy through the ends and also leaving my hair looking clean. Which is what I want from a dry shampoo.
Out of the two I prefer the smell of the COLAB version but prefer the texture from the Batiste one. So is there a winner? Not really, these are both great volumising dry shampoos that are well worth the money.
Have you tried either dry shampoo, which one is your favourite?

Your hair looks so healthy, I’ve always avoided dry shampoo because I remember the girls at school looking like they have cover themselves in talc powder lol
Dry shampoos have definitely moved on since those days x
I love dry shampoo but have always struggled to get on with the volumising ones as they just make my hair feel almost sticky at the roots. Think your hair might have a little more volume on the colab one thou. Either way.. Looks lovely 🙂 x
Thank you x
I have never tried dry shampoo. Keep thinking about getting some, but not sure if they really work and don’t want to waste my pennies
I’ve not used a dry shampoo that hasn’t worked, they’re all different and most of them are reasonably priced x
I have really struggled with finding a nice dry shampoo because I can never get the colour right in my hair but both of these look great. I might have to try them because they’ve made your hair look lovely. x
Thank you x
I LOVE the batiste dry shampoo, only just discovered it 2 months ago and I haven’t looked back since. Xx
Is it a good one x
I have tried the batiste dry shampoo and find it good for a refresh between washes, although I’d love to learn more about styling with it.
I find that second day hair holds a style easier than freshly washed hair x
