How are you spending Valentine’s Day?

Merry Musing Valentine's Day

Now I’m sure it hasn’t escaped you all, but today is Valentine’s Day. A day for showing your love to the one you love the most. While some may think this day is just a commercial gimmick, other’s really go all out and enjoy the festivities associated with showing the world, who you love. For me, my Valentine’s Day will be spent in one of the least romantic places I can imagine. The gym. Yes, that’s right. I’m spending my evening doing a boxing class, followed by a pilates class. That’s how romantic my life is at the moment! But what about you? How are you spending Valentine’s Day?

For some, I’m sure tonight will be about wining and dining your loved one. But for many, I’m sure it’ll be a night in, as opposed to a night out. Afterall, staying in is the new going out, right? But if you are staying in, what are you cooking? According to new research by HelloFresh, oysters, strawberries and sweet treats need to move aside. As the majority of us, myself included, would prefer a nice juicy steak, a roast dinner or a spicy curry to set the mood.

And if you’re staying in, then what are you watching? For me, it has to be a box set or a good film. Not necessarily a romantic one, just one with a good, thrilling and engaging story. Box set wise I’m just about to start The Sinner and I can’t wait. I’ve heard so many good things about this series! And you can’t beat watching a good series in your PJs.

Does it get any better than staying in, chilling in your pjs, watching good tv and eating good food? For me, that’s the ultimate way to spend Valentine’s Day. What about you? How are you spending your evening?

Ooh I completely agree with that research. I’d much rather eat savoury than sweet foods – especially a roast! Either way, tonight’s a films and PJs night for me! x

My husband works in a restaurant so has to work every Valentines Day. I don’t mind though, I spent it catching up on some of the winter Olympics

I was on my own this year but I didn’t really mind at all 🙂 Just kept off social media to avoid all the fuss! Grey’s anatomy and a tub of ice cream done me 🙂

I will be at work and then will have dinner with the hubby and lots of kisses for my little one. Nothing big.

I take it as just another day, cooking is a part of it! The boxing and pilates class sound so good!!
