Merry Christmas! Now I feel like I couldn’t have started a Christmas 2020 post without commenting on what a year it’s been! From Lockdown and tiers coming out of our ears, a new normal of working from home and not spending as much time as I want with friends and family. 2020 has been very different to the year I planned.
But it’s Christmas and despite believing that things would surely be back to normal by Christmas. It would seem that I was mistaken. Things were most certainly NOT back to normal. In fact the plans for the day kept changing thanks to finding myself moving from tier 2 to tier 4 within a matter of days.
But we move. And although the day was the smallest Christmas Day celebration I can remember, it was still a lot of fun. As I’m bubbled with my mum and step dad, my day was spent round theirs enjoying a lovely lunch, which was essentially a roast dinner (because who is going to cook turkey for three people?). Followed by an obscene amount of Quality Street and Lindt (because it’s Christmas). And games like Dobble and Shot in the Dark (because we’re that rock and roll!).
Despite having to see so many of the people I would normally see on Christmas via FaceTime. It was still a fun day. I just hope that by next Christmas, this pandemic really will be over and I’ll be back to having a big affair with the whole family.
Whatever you got up to, I hope you had a lovely day. Merry Christmas!
