Mulberry Lily in Midnight review

Now regular readers of this blog, or followers of my Instagram page, will know about my love of luxury items. And handbags are definitely my weakness. Specifically, Mulberry handbags. Ever since I bought my first Mulberry – a plum Bayswater – over 10 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with their designs and the brand since. So much so, that this isn’t actually the first Lily I own. No, this is the third Lily. I have a medium which is bigger. And another in the same size, just in taupe. What can I say, I love this style. So if you’re thinking of adding this popular bag to your collection, here are my thoughts on the beautiful Mulberry Lily in Midnight.

Now the first thing I have to say about this bag. Is how classic the design is. Yes it takes nods from Chanel with the interwoven chain strap and front flap. But the postman’s lock is quintessentially Mulberry. And for a small bag, it’s surprisingly roomy.

The Mulberry Lily actually comes in three sizes, the mini, which I don’t own, the small, which is this one, and the medium, which I also own. I would say the small is the perfect bag if you’re heading out for the day and don’t want to carry a lot. The medium for me is more of a work bag. Or a bag you’d use when you have more to carry.

Color-wise, I love that Midnight is a dark navy. I’m not a big fan of black bags. Well, that is until I got this one! So for a good couple of years, this was the darkest bag in my collection. But one that I would turn to when I wanted a dark coloured bag.

Price-wise, the small Lily’s retail for £795, and I actually got this bag in the sale back in December 2018. Which meant that I picked this up for £596, which is about 20% off the retail price. Despite owning the bag for just over three years, it still looks almost brand new. And has worn really well over the years.

So there you have it. My Mulberry Lily in Midnight review. Let me know in the comments below whether you have this bag. Or whether you’ll add the Mulberry Lily to your bag collection.
