High-end Handbag | Mulberry Lily Review

Mulberry Lily

Regular readers of this blog will know how much I love my bags. Handbags are definitely my weakness. Specifically Mulberry handbags. Ever since I bought my first Mulberry bag almost 10 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with their designs. And one of my favourite designs has to be the Mulberry Lily. In fact, I love it so much that I actually own two of them. One in this taupe colour. And the other in Midnight.

Now I know this is a popular bag, which is why I wanted to share an honest review of the Mulberry Lily. Especially if you’re considering buying the bag yourself. The first thing to mention about this bag is the price. Unless you’re buying the bag in the sale or at Bicester Village – both of which will probably save you around 20% off the retail price – the bag is usually priced at £795. Which if you’re looking for a quality designer bag is a reasonable price to pay compared to some of the other brands out there. For example, a Saint Laurent Kate bag, which is similar in size, retails for over £1,000. A Chanel small flap bag – also similar in size, retails for well over £2,000.

Now before anyone adds this in the comments, I know that £795 is a lot of money to spend on a bag. It’s a lot of money in general. But if you’re in the market to buy a designer bag, then you already know how much a bag like this costs. And if that’s what you choose to spend your money on, then I support you. As that’s exactly what I choose to spend mine on.

But back to the Mulberry Lily and one of my favourite things about the bag is the versatility. You can either wear this bag on long on your shoulder. Or you can double the strap up and wear it under your arm. Or you can wear it across the body. The possibilities are really endless! And although it can look small – it’s actually quite roomy. I can fit my Mulberry Continental purse in there. Along with keys, phone and lipstick – what more do you need?

I have to say I’ve had this bag for over a year now and used it very consistently and it still looks great. The lock on the front has a couple of scratches from general wear and tear. But other than that it looks almost brand new. Another option, if you didn’t want to buy the bag brand new, is to opt for a pre-loved one. I’ve not bought pre-loved before but I know Vestiaire Collective is a popular choice for pre-loved bags.

You can find more Mulberry Lily bags on the John Lewis website.

Let me know in the comments below whether you have this bag. Or whether you’ll add the Mulberry Lily to your bag collection.
