Now it’s been a while since my last Mulberry review. You can find the others here. But this beauty was a birthday and Christmas present to me, from me. I’ve talked about it before, but I usually end up treating myself to a new Mulberry most years. Usually, I end up buying a bag that I’ve been lusting over for a while. My last bag – the Small Darley in Pale Slate. Was a bag that I feel in love with as soon as I saw it. I still love it today. But this new addition, the Mulberry Small Amberley, was a more impromptu purchase.
Earlier this month, once shops had reopened and I could head out for a shopping trip with my mum, we went into London to do some Christmas shopping. This is something we do most years. But obviously this year hasn’t been like most years. And the final stop on our shopping trip took us to House of Fraser. Where my mum picked up a new bag from Aspinal of London and I spotted this beauty in the sale.

Yes, in the sale. Now I’ll admit, the Amberley was a bag that had passed me by. I have a thing for Lily’s. In fact, before the Darley, the previous three bags were all Lily’s. One medium sized and two smaller sized ones. But seeing the Amberley in person. Changed my mind. That and the fact it has silver hardware (which is a must for me). And the black studs.
Now this is the first black bag that I own. I know, crazy right. But all my other bags are grey, navy, plum, taupe or pale blue. I’ve never had a black Mulberry before. But I love it.

The two straps mean the bag is incredibly versatile. I can use the longer strap to wear across body – which is my preferred way to way a bag. Or I can use the top handle. It’s so easy to interchange between the two. And the bag itself is big enough to carry everything I need.
As much as I love the small Darley. It’s small. Like really small. It has room for six cards in the slots and a my phone. But not much else. The Amberley has enough for my card holder, phone, keys, mask, hand sanitiser and lip balm.

Now as mentioned, this bag was in the sale. I think the original price was around the £900 mark. But I got the bag for £597 in the sale. It was the only one they had left and I can’t find it online anymore. But I’m so happy to have spotted it. I know as soon as we’re back to normal, this will become one of my most used everyday bags.
What do you think of the Mulberry Small Amberley?
