12 reasons why blogging is brilliant

It is so easy to get stuck in a blogging rut. Its happened to me plenty of times and I’m sure it’ll happen again and again. But if you’re in a rut then I think it’s important to look back at why you started blogging in the first place and what you love most about it. After all, we all started blogging because of a passion, and we wouldn’t still be doing it if we didn’t love it. So here are just 12 reasons why blogging is brilliant.

1. There are no rules and everyone is pretty much making it up as they gone along, which is incredibly exciting and scary at the same time
2. You learn and develop a huge amount of skills without realising it, from photography and editorial planning to social media promotion and website design
3. The sense of achievement you feel when you realise what an amazing little space you’ve created on the internet
4. Getting to be part of a friendly and supportive community that is the blogging world
5. Pushing yourself in so many ways, from learning about code and HTML to improving your photography skills
6. Stepping outside your comfort zones by putting yourself out there online
7. Getting to experience things that you wouldn’t have before if it hadn’t been for your blog
8. Taking inspiration from some of the many talented bloggers out there
9. Getting to watch your space grow from a small handful of readers to hundreds or even thousands of readers
10. Although you may not want to, you do learn to grow a thick skin when it comes to blogging
11. Using your blog as a way to escape a rubbish day
12. Getting to meet lots of other lovely bloggers who all have the same passion as you

So there you have it, 12 reasons why blogging is brilliant. And it really is. Yes there are days where you’re lacking inspiration, or weeks when life just gets in the way and you can’t blog. But essentially, we all blog because we love it. And because blogging is brilliant. It really is.
