My 2017 blogging goals

2017 blogging goals

2017 is almost upon up and what a year 2016 has been. As you would have seen from my blog’s 4th birthday post. I started this blog to combine my three passions – beauty, writing and photography. And while those passions are still the reason I blog. I do have big plans for 2017. I’ve decided to start treating my blog like a business and set some proper goals. While being able to earn enough to live on would be nice, it’s not the end goal. I do love the job I do and I’m lucky that despite this not being my main job, I still get to experience some amazing things because of the blog.

But as I’m sure you might be aware, blog competition is fierce. And I don’t want my little space on the internet to be left behind. I want to be able to continue blogging and continue to deliver content that you want to see. So with that in mind, I thought I’d put together my 2017 blogging goals:

Get organised

I used to be quite organised when it came to my blog. Spending my weekends taking pictures and writing posts. But in the run up to Christmas that slipped a little. Although I like to daily blog, I found myself having to miss a day or two. So my goal for 2017 is to get organised again. I need to be stricter with dedicating time at the weekend’s and evening’s to my blog so that I can continue to publish new content daily. Obviously this is going to require some serious organisation. But this blog is important to me, so it’ll be worth it.

Be prepared

One of the things I’ve been meaning to do for a while is to create a stock library. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve wanted to publish a post but I’ve not had any pictures. And not had the time to take any new pictures. So preparing a stock library would be perfect. But it’s not just a stock library for blog pictures. I feel like my Instagram game is slipping so I really want to dedicate time each week to taking pictures purely for Instagram. It’s one of my biggest social media platforms and the one I enjoy the most. I just need to be better prepared so I can post daily on there.

Share the love

One of the things I love most about the blogging community is how lovely everyone is. And how fellow bloggers are generally your biggest cheerleaders. Of course there are some people who don’t fit into this category. But luckily for me I’ve not encountered too many. But next year I want to make more of an effort of telling my favourite bloggers that I love their blogs and their content and probably their Instagram feeds as well.

As a blogger I spend a lot of time reading other people’s blogs. And I have a lot of favourites. So next year I want to share the love a little more in the community and tell some of my favourite bloggers that they’re killing it! Because they are!

If you’re a fellow blogger, what are your 2017 blogging goals? If you’re not a blogger what are your gener

My little blog turned one in 2016 and I’ve never really thought about setting goals…it’s a great idea! My blogging game completely went off track in December so January will be the time to kick start it again! I feel that the break has actually done me some good as well though!

Building a stock library of photos is a fantastic idea. I believe none of us can be successful bloggers without embracing the rest of the blogging community – must be a lonely place if people try to do it alone! Happy New year to you!

Some lovely ideas and I agree I must get more involved with the blogging community as its brilliant to be able to have those who can relate ad support you as blogging can get very stressful but lonely at times

Good luck on working to your goals. I need to work on being more organised too. I also need to build up a library of photos as I have the same problem and it delays me in getting posts live.

Good luck with your goals – I really need to think of some good ones to get me going for 2017 – I’ve not done much to improve it over the last year.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the end – it’s really important to set blogging goals – mine include sticking to a blogging schedule and making more blogger friends in 2017 – it can be a lonely existence blogging!

This year I am not going to set any goals. I know I have to game up and put my head in the game. But getting organised is definitely something I need to do!

My blogging goals are: be better organised and get posts written ahead of time. I struggled in 2016 between hospital admissions and being home to actually get anything written. Also, just keep my head down and work hard.

Love these goals. Organising beauty and fashion shots is tricky when you need help with photos but I’d like to be more creative with my content this year and organisation helps with that!
