When I first started beauty blogging three years ago, I really didn’t think I’d still be doing it all these months later. I also never thought that along the way I would pick up a wealth of tips, tricks and advice. Beauty blogging has honestly taught me far more than any beauty book would have, which is why I wanted to spread the knowledge and share with you all 9 things fellow beauty bloggers have taught me.
- Rather than applying dry shampoo in the mornings, apply it before you go to bed. All the tossing and turning you do in your sleep will ensure that every trace of dry shampoo is absorbed and it’ll create natural volume.
- The MAC Back to MAC programme, as an avid fan of MAC for many years I had no idea until I started beauty blogging that giving them back five empty products would allow me to receive a free lipstick!
- More beauty products than you think are multi purpose. Want to great a bronzed eye look? Don’t go hunting for a golden eyeshadow, just pick up your favourite bronzer.
- You can create your own gradual self tanner by combining your favourite fake tan lotion with your favourite body lotion (try for a 60:40 ratio). This is a great way to use up for your summer self tanners and add a glow to your pale winter complexion.
- I never knew double cleansing was a thing until fellow beauty bloggers enlightened me to the process. Without the double cleanse my pores would be a lot more clogged and my skin would just generally look dull. So thank you beauty bloggers!
- Don’t rule out powder foundations. They’re great for disguising redness and offer great coverage without a heavy appearance.
- Don’t believe the hype, what works for some bloggers, may not work for everyone.
- Thought cream eyeshadows can only be used as eyeshadows? Well think again people, they also make a great liquid eyeliner and cream blush or bronzer.
- Don’t be afraid to try something new, whether that’s a new brand, a new routine or a new shade of lipstick.
What have beauty bloggers taught you?

The dry shampoo thing makes complete sense- definitely going to have to try it! I also never thought of using tape to do eyeliner until a vlogger did it, makes it so much easier! 🙂

The dry shampoo trick has been the best thing I’ve ever discovered. It’s saved my bright red hair now and my colour last SO much longer. I used to hate the white powder residue leftover when I was in rush but now Dry Shampoo is life!!
I’d honestly never thought of making my own tanning lotion – great spot there 🙂
These are great tips! My favorite is using powder foundation, sometimes I prefer it over liquid!

I love this post, I owe so much to bloggers / blogging but, I have to admit I have no idea what double cleansing is… Anything that reduces pores sounds like it is worth investigating.
Love this post! I’m very new to the blogging world so still have so much to learn! This was a great start… i’ll definitely be using the dry shampoo trick!
Such a lovely post and I didn’t know about the dry shampoo tip! I’m going to have to try that now!
