One night at the Clarion Hotel Oslo

Clarion Hotel Oslo

Now as you might remember, I spent 24 hours on my own in Oslo earlier this month. I was there with work for three days and then decided to add a day on at the end to head out and explore the city on my own. Having spent the time with work either based at the airport or up in the mountains of Trysil. The first thing I needed to do was find accommodation that would suit a solo traveller in the heart of Oslo. And I have to say the Clarion Hotel Oslo was a perfect choice.

I wanted the hotel to be close to Oslo central station. As that’s the easiest way for me to get into the city. And I wanted to be close enough to the action. But also far enough away for a quiet and relaxing stay. Oh, and seeing as Oslo is probably one of the most expensive places I’ve visited. I also wanted a hotel which was nice and affordable. Which is exactly what I got.

Priced at 1,490 Norweigan Krone for the night, including breakfast. The room worked out to be just £128. Which considering Norway is ridiculously expensive at times, the room rate didn’t seem like an extortionate amount to pay. Plus, the look, feel and experience you get at the hotel makes you feel like you’ve paid a lot more to spend the night there.

From the moment you walk into the hotel, to the moment your head hits the pillow, it feels like a luxury hotel. Technology is a big focus for the hotel. From an online check-in and check-out system. To ordering room service via their app. And although the room is compact and cosy, it’s filled with everything you need and a bathroom that is absolutely bathroom goals. For a solo traveller, the hotel was perfect. And the breakfast the next morning had a wide range of traditional and continental style foods available.

Located in Oslo’s newest district of Bjørvika, the hotel is just 500m from the central station and the trendy Barcode area. It’s also just a stone throw away from the Opera House. And within walking distance of the Palace and central shopping area of Oslo.

You can find out more about the hotel here, but if you’re staying in Oslo then I would definitely recommend having a look at the Clarion Hotel Oslo. This isn’t an ad by the way. And I paid full price for my room. I just wanted to share a lovely hotel for other solo travellers staying in Oslo.
