Now I don’t know about you, but although restrictions might be easing, we’re still going to have be indoors for a little while longer. So what else is there really to do other than binge-watch another series on Netflix? Well, that’s what I’m telling myself anyway. So, if like me, you feel like you’ve watched everything. Here are five shows to watch on Netflix this week.
SEASPIRACY
I think this might be one of the most talked-about documentaries on Netflix at the moment. but it’s well worth a watch. It explores the damage being done to marine life such as sharks, dolphins, and whales by the global fishing industry. It definitely makes for a scary watch but one that needs to be seen if we’re to change.
MARRIAGE OR MORTGAGE
Despite the fact that to me, this is one of the easiest questions in the world to answer. It appears I could be in the minority given that this show asks couples to pick between a mortgage or a marriage. And more than expected pick the marriage! But if you’re looking for an easy-to-watch show then this is for you. It’s set in Nashville, it is very American (don’t let that put you off) but it’s also entertaining as these couples decide on whether to put down roots with a home. Or have the wedding of their dreams. I definitely know which one I would pick!
UNDER SUSPICION: UNCOVERING THE WESPHAEL CASE
For those of us who love a crime documentary then this is for you. It follows the high-profile case of Belgian politician Bernard Wesphael, who was accused of murdering his wife in 2013. Essentially their marriage isn’t a perfectly happy one. But they head to a seaside resort for the weekend. Have made passionate love, he has a nap, wakes up, and finds his wife dead in the bathroom. He assumes suicide. Everyone else assumes he did it. It’s an interesting series and one that I’ve been gripped to.
CALL MY AGENT
Despite the fact that this is now in its fourth season, I’ve only just started it. But I love it! It’s French (but again, don’t let that put you off). It follows agents who work at a talent agency and the ridiculous lengths they’ll go to keep their clients happy. It’s funny, it’s sweet, it’s bonkers and so easy to watch despite the fact there are subtitles.
ELIZABETH AND MARGARET
If like me, you’ve been looking for a crown fix then this might just be the thing. It’s a two-part documentary that looks at the relationship between Queen Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret. It focuses on their relationship as children, all the way through to the point of Margaret’s death, and gives great insight into how their relationship developed and evolved. As they changed from sister to Queen and her subject.
