So last week I shared my tips on how to keep organised and inspired and this week I want to share with you all my tips on increasing productivity for blogging. Essentially being productive is the key to getting stuff done, without this keeping organised and making sure you have that all important work/life balance becomes almost impossible. For me running this blog, working full time and juggling general life means I need to be productive to make things easy to manage. So here are my tip tips for increasing productivity:
Make a to do list
I know I’ve mentioned this countless times before in my other blogging tips posts but honestly making a to do list really helps to give you a clear picture of what needs to be done and by when. I use lists for work, for blogging tasks and just general life admin. Not only does it help to keep you organised but it helps you to focus on one task at a time. Which is essential to getting stuff done.
Keep a diary
I use an online diary that is synced to my phone and I use it to organise my life. Every work deadline, blog post, event and also fun with family and friends is added into the calendar. Knowing when you’re busy or free is the best way to manage your time more efficiently and increase your productivity.
Dedicate time to blogging
Once you’ve written your to do list and checked the deadlines in your diary, you can start to dedicate time to getting your blog jobs done. Whether you’re going to spend two hours on Saturday taking pictures, or one hour in the evening writing a blog post, whatever it is block it out in your diary and commit to it. I find that once it’s written down in the diary I’m more likely to stick to it and having a limited amount of time, means that I’m more likely to stay focused and get my jobs done.
Don’t over commit
I think we can all agree that there really are not enough hours in the day, so don’t over commit yourself to getting all your tasks done by only surviving on five hours sleep a night. I find that if I commit to too many projects I end up stressing myself out, and if there is one thing that hinders productivity then it’s stress.
So take time to relax and don’t say yes to everything that is presented to you. Especially if you know that you’re just not going to have enough time to work on it. It’s OK to want to take a break every now and then. Especially if you’ve been working really hard and are in desperate need to recharge your batteries. So whether it’s a 10 minute break to get lunch, an early night, a weekend off or a week in the sun – it doesn’t matter what it is, but giving yourself a break is so important to increasing your productivity.
Stay positive
The most important tip here is to stay positive. After all a positive mind, vibe and life are key ingredients in helping to handle life’s demands and help you get the jobs done. The more productive you are, the less time you’ll spend being stressed or worried and the more time you’ll be able to spend on focusing on getting your work done. After all the most successful people I know are also the most productive, so on that basis alone, it’s worth giving it a go and trying to increase your productivity.
So these have been my tops tips on increasing productivity for blogging. Let me know if you have any others tip that help you stay productive.

I really need to get back on track with my blogging. This is a great post!
Thank you, glad you found the post useful x
Great tips, I definitely need to set aside time for blogging. I used to do posts at least once a week and now life and freelancing seems to have got in the way and i’m struggling. Definitely need to dedicate a few hours a week to creating fresh content. I have so many ideas but not enough time.
Also love the notebook in the picture. Where’s it from?
Thank you, the notebook is from Tesco x
Great pointers! I do them and since I have been doing it life has just become easier and simpler.
Thank you x
