How to achieve thicker looking hair

How to achieve thicker looking hair

When it comes to haircare I only really have one major concern – how to achieve thicker hair. I’d love to have naturally thick hair that is in great condition. My hair used to be incredibly thick as a child but as I grew up and discovered hair dye, straighteners, curling wands etc, it’s thinned out a lot. I know I’m not alone in wanting to create thicker and fuller locks which is why I’d thought I’d share with you all my tips on how to achieve thicker looking hair.

Thickening shampoo

There are so many thickening shampoos and conditioners on the market today and but one of my favourites is the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. This range is designed especially for those with fine, thinning, limp and flyaway hair or those seeking fullness. Seeing as I fall into every one of these categories I knew I had to try it. The shampoo promises to build body as you wash, which helps to lock in moisture in the hair and seal split ends. And when it comes to thickness, the shampoo and conditioner combined have seen my hair look and feel thicker, which is exactly what I wanted it to do.

Extensions

If you’re looking for a semi-permanent solution to adding thickness to your hair, then you can always look at extensions. Obviously clip in extensions are great for adding thickness for nights out, but for a more permanent solution you can invest in bond extensions that will last for roughly three months at a time. This is a great option if you want thicker hair for a set period of time, maybe you’ve got a lot of weddings to go to over the summer months, or have a few holidays that you want thicker hair for, but it’s an expensive and time consuming treatment to go ahead with.

Hair Transplant

Of course another option to combat thinning hair would be to try a FUE hair transplant. Now I know what you’re thinking, it’s only for men right? Well no. Men and women can both take advantage of this treatment. Which if you’re really concerned about your thinning hair, might be the best option for you. Treatment includes extracting hair follicles from a donor area and then transferring the hair follicles to your scalp. The results look pretty impressive and it’s definitely a long term solution. You can find out the cost of a hair transplant on the Harley Street Hair Clinic website.

Mouse in wet hair and then blow dry. This always give the impression I have really thick hair. I do have clip in extensions for nights out though.

I had absolutely no idea that us ladies could have hair transplanted too – what a reassuring idea if I ever suffer with thinning hair, phew!

    Thanks for sharing!

I have slightly weird hair in that there’s lots of it but the strands themselves are very fine. I’ll have to try the thickening shampoo 🙂

My hair is similar and I found the thickening shampoos were brilliant for fixing this x
