Capturing local style with a Canon EOS M10

Canon EOS M10

One of my New Year’s resolutions last year was to take more photos. Now don’t get me wrong, as a blogger I do take a lot of pictures. And while I can take some great shots at home using my Canon 700D. I struggle to get great shots when I’m out and about as I have to rely on my phone. As sometimes it’s just too much hassle and effort to take my big camera out with me. I have to admit, for the best part of the year I had been looking at getting a second camera purely for using when I’m on the go. And I think I’ve found the dream travel camera – the Canon EOS M10.

Canon EOS M10

I was lucky enough to be gifted this one from Curry’s and asked to test it out and use it to document local style in my hometown. And I have to say I’ve fallen in love with it. I took it with me to Luton Hoo on Monday. It’s only about 20 minutes from where I live and spending the day in the spa and then having Afternoon Tea seemed like the perfect excuse to test it out! And it was! The camera was the perfect size for carrying around and even in low light it captured great pictures. With 18 megapixels, you can take high quality pictures on the go.

What I love about this camera, is that even on auto you can take some amazing pictures. Personally I prefer to shot on manual, but it’s good to know that on auto you can still capture beautiful pictures. And the flip screen makes it incredibly easy to take that perfect selfie. It literally is like the perfect mini camera to take out, especially as you can change the lens. Personally I’d love to get a pancake or 50mm lens for this, to create the Instagram worthy blurred backgrounds I love.

Overall I’m so impressed by this little camera. It can take high quality pictures while still being incredibly lightweight and easy to carry. Plus the flip screen makes it so easy to capture the perfect selfie, or do some vlogging with the filming mode. If like me, you struggle to carry around a huge camera with you, then this is definitely worth investing in.

The Canon EOS M10 is available from Currys for £295.

This is exactly the reason why I bought the Olympus pen as I hated having to drag around my SLR if I wanted decent photos. I love the folding out screens too x

Now this does sound like the perfect camera for being on the go and much better than lugging my big massive camera around with me.

This does sound like a great camera to use on the go, and the pictures you shot with you look wonderful! I wouldn’t mind having a smaller camera to carry on the go, I will have to take a look at this one.

This is a fab camera for on the go. I took my DLSR to Disneyland Paris once. Took good photos, but was a right pain! Really great quality pics, too.

Your little camera takes such lovely, clear and quality pictures. My current cameras Nikon and Canon are so clunky at times xx

I need to get myself a camera for blogging and this sounds like a perfect option. Not too complicated, nor bulky. The photo’s look amazing so this could be the one for me!

I have an older Canon EOS M (without the flip screen) and it’s what I use for my blog photos and out and about. I even have a Canon 60D which I’ve never even taken out of the box believe it or not!
