Hello August

Now I don’t know about you, but how is it August already? This year seems to be flying by. But I am excited it’s August, as that means its holiday month! Yes, that’s right. Just before the Bank Holiday, I’ll be heading off with one of the work girls to the beautiful island of Rhodes for a week of sun, sea, sand and serious relaxation. And I can’t wait!

July was fun, but I need a break. Work has been busy but chaotic. And life has been busy but fun. A holiday is just what I need this month, and I can’t wait to pack my bags in my new Lulu Guinness luggage – yes, I am that basic. And head to the airport.

But before that, I’ve got a couple of goals I want to achieve. Starting with getting into a proper gym routine. Now I’m not doing that thing where I leave myself three weeks to lose three stone. As if I would…. But I do like going to the gym. Well, I like the feeling I get from going to the gym. So, I want to get into a routine of going three times a week and sticking to it. All too often I make excuses that I’m late home from work, or that I’m too tired. But this month, I want to get there three times a week without fail – wish me luck!

Along with that, I want to get better at having a work-life balance. I like to work. But that often means that I struggle to get the balance between work and life right. I often find myself too tired to do anything else during the week before all I’m doing is working. Don’t get me wrong, I like to work, and it is a passion of mine. But it’s not sustainable or healthy. So, this month I want to make more of an effort to leave the office on time and actually have more of a life!

And finally, this month I plan on being a bit better with my money. There are always two types of people. Savers and spenders. And I’m very much a spender. I just like my money where I can see. Hanging in my closet. But, I do want to get better with saving more of my money. As I find I just seem to waste it on things that I don’t really need.

What have you got planned for August? Any goals that you want to achieve before we hit September?

I can’t believe it’s August and we’re more than half way to Christmas. I’d like to read more this month, if I can give myself the time to.

This year is flying by all too quickly. The only goal I have for August is to have fun with the children

I don’t have too much planned for August other than a trip to Bristol tomorrow, some mortgage advisor meetings and a day at Victorious Festival at the end of the month. Good luck on your gym routine, I need to start doing something like this x

August means yet another birthday in our house so we have plans for that, although at 19 he doesn’t want much. I am looking forward to my husband having two weeks off work
