Four high-end Primers that are worth the extra step

high-end Primers

Now I’m sure I’ve mentioned this a fair few times before. But as someone with oily skin, a primer is a must have for me. It’s a firm staple in my makeup bag. And having shared with you all last week my favourite drugstore primers. It’s only right that I share with you all my high-end favourites this week. While I do love a bargain and browsing the drugstore. I can’t deny that I also love high-end makeup. I love the look and feel of high-end products. And

Too Faced Hangover Primer £27

Too Faced Hangover Primer

If you’ve not heard of this Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer before then where have you been? This primer achieved cult status a few years back and it’s easy to see why. If you’re guilty of long days and late nights then this is the primer for you. It’s enriched with coconut water, probiotic based ingredients, and skin revivers that work together to boost your skin’s radiance, promote elasticity and add hydration. While also locking down makeup for a fresher, longer and more flawless wear. You can either wear this on its own for a dewy, healthy finish. Or underneath your makeup for a perfect canvas. I have to say, this primer definitely gives the appearance that I’ve had my eight hours of sleep and plenty of H2O!

Stila one step correct £24

Stila one step correct

This Stila One Step Correct is so much more than a primer. It’s a triple-swirled helix serum that instantly colour-corrects, brightens and covers any skin imperfections. Sounds impressive right? Well, it is! The green tone works to instantly neutralise any redness and conceal any blemishes. The purple tone works to counteract any sallow undertones for a vibrant and energised look. While the peach tone works to brighten, illuminate and dimish the appearance of sun spots. All three combine together for an incredibly lightweight but creamy finish that just sinks into the skin without clogging pores. Just leaving you with a flawless finish for your makeup.

Laura Geller ‘Spackle Mist’ prime and set spray £25
Laura Geller 'Spackle Mist' prime and set spray

What I love most about this Laura Geller Beauty Spackle Mist is that you can prime, hydrate and set your makeup with just one spray. If you use it before makeup, it creates a perfect canvas. Or you can use it over makeup for a flawless finish. With a mix of soothing Aloe Vera Extract and Vitamin B5, this mist helps keep skin hydrated, while the refreshing cucumber extract works to reduce any puffiness.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm £31

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

I’ve been a big fan of this Clarins Beauty Flash Balm for years now. And if you haven’t tried it then you need to. The balm acts as a beauty booster that immediately eliminates any signs of tiredness while brightening your face to give your skin a rested and relaxed look. You only need a very thin layer of this balm. And best of all, you can also use this a facial mask a couple of times a week for a bigger beauty boost.

What do you think of these high-end primers? What’s your favourite primer to use?

I think my wife uses Too Faced every now and then, and she’s really picky, so I guess she finds it good 😀

I’ve only tried the Stila one but I really like it. When I’ve used it all up, I might go for the Too Faced one as I’ve heard so many good reviews!

I’ve tried the Too Faced one before but the Spackle Mist sounds even better. I love anything with aloe.

I really like the sound of the Stella ones, I like the fact it helps correct as well, as my skin is quite blotchy.

I have yet to try the Too Faced Primer – I really really want to give it a go. I much prefer non-silicone primers so I think this would be great x
