When it comes to at home beauty treatments I’m a big fan. You really don’t need to spend a small fortune on expensive skincare scrubs when they are so easy and cheap to make yourself using the contents of your cupboards. So when the lovely people at Mira Showers challenged me to make my own face and lip scrub I couldn’t resist. Especially as it turned out to be incredibly easy and not to mention fun, to make my own.
Face Scrub
This deep cleansing face scrub is so easy to make. All you need is some oats, half a lemon squeezed and a little honey. Mix them together and add a little cinnamon for the flavour. I found this scrub to be surprising gentle on the skin while clearing blackheads and removing any dead skin.
Lip Scrub
I suffer with dry lips at this time of year, and find a lip scrub really helps to keep my lips looking and feeling soft, and this lip scrub is fab. All you need is a little brown sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, honey and coconut oil. Mix them all together and you have an incredibly nourishing lip scrub that will leaves your lips feeling cleansed and looking super soft!
Have you tried to make your own beauty products before? Let me know any other homemade beauty recipes that I should be trying.

Love the idea! It’s cheaper and since it’s 100% natural it should be healthier and probably more effective!
I’ve come across the oat face scrub idea before but never tried it.
The only home remedy I sometimes use is a mix of sugar and lemon juice as a scrub for my hands.
Lovely idea to do this – I have tried to make my own lip scrub before and its actually quite fun I agree!
