BaByliss Curling Wand Pro

Regular readers of my blog will know that I’m not one for wearing my hair straight. As my hair is naturally wavy, a curl suits my hair, and my face a lot more than straight hair. Which means I’m forever on a mission to find the perfect curling iron.

Now normally I don’t like conical curling irons. I feel comfortable a clamp on the iron, and the risk of me burning myself is very high with these. But I think I’ve had a breakthrough. Not only is the BaByliss Curling Wand Pro so easy to use, but it also comes with a very handy heat proof glove. Hallelujah.

Using a wand like this is different to using a regular curling iron with a clamp. Mainly because you hold the iron at a downward angle, and wrap the top of the hair at the widest part working down until the ends are at the small tip end of the wand. It can be fiddly, so if you’re unsure, have a look on YouTube at how other people use it.

The wand has four heat settings taking you from 165 degrees right up to 210. As my hair already has a natural wave in it, it doesn’t need a lot of heat to curl, so I tend to use the lower settings.

What I like about this is that as there is no clamp in place, the curls you get are a bit messier, due to the varying width of the wand. But I like this look. You get less uniform or structured curls that you would expect from using a clamp curling iron or rollers. But the curls you get when using this, stay in place for days.

The BaByliss Curling Wand Pro is available from Boots for £24.99.

I like the idea of longer lasting curls, I am prone to burning myself so a glove would be handy.

I have a Lee Stafford one of these wands, but mine never came with a glove, so I’ve never used it as I’m very accident prone!

Love that look of the curls the wand gives you! Looks very natural.
I have the secret curl from Babyliss which is good. A little scary to use but gives you a nice curl too x
