Sunday brunching at Bills St Albans

Sunday brunching at Bills St Albans

As someone who works full time, five days a week. It’s fair to say my weekends are precious to me. Like they are to most of us. And a couple of weekends ago I had a pretty perfect weekend. I spent the Saturday running errands and doing all the chores I have to do over a weekend. While all those adulting jobs aren’t that fun. It definitely feels good being productive. But that wasn’t the perfect part. Despite getting up for an 8.30am spin class on the Sunday, the rest of the day was spent in sunny St Albans with my future sister in law, doing two things we love. Shopping and eating. But not just any eating. We got to head down to the newly refurbished Bills to enjoy a three-course meal.

And enjoy it, we did! Now we’ve both big fans of Bills and visit out local one in Welwyn pretty regularly. But the St Albans one has just been refurbished. And it looks amazing. It’s brighter, fresher, but still feels like the Bills we know and love. As it was Sunday we went for the all-day brunch menu and definitely took advantage of the fact it was Sunday. And therefore a cheat day when it came to food.

To start with we ordered the toasted focaccia and humous with toasted seeds and sundried tomatoes. Which was lovely. Light enough for a starter but we could definitely have ordered a second round of it. Next up I went for the burger. Which is a bit of a classic for me. I do love a burger! And this one was as good as I expected it to be. The meat wasn’t overdone, the burger sauce was amazing and the chips were incredibly moreish. Emily went for the fish and chips, which looked really good. And I’m assured tasted just as good too. Then to finish we both went for the warm chocolate brownie with chocolate mousse and ice cream. And wow, it was delicious!

To say we were both stuffed after that is an understatement. But it was worth it. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable and I can’t wait to head back there again.
