How do you remove unwanted body hair?

I’m sure we can all agree – body hair is a pretty personal subject. Some people choose to shave, some people choose to wax, some people use IPL Technology and some people do nothing. For me I choose to epliate. But that’s because I’ve never shaved my legs. Now don’t get freaked out – I don’t have hairy gorilla style hair on my legs. But from the ages of 12 to 24 I had my legs sugared. If you’re not familiar with sugaring it’s a natural paste that pulls the hair follicle out in the direction it grows in. For me I find it more effective than traditional waxing. But for the past six years I’ve been epliating.

As I’ve never shaved I don’t have a lot of hair on my legs. In fact after years of pain, and yes it was pretty painful at times, I now have patches on my leg where no hair grows. And the hair that does grow, is pretty soft and fine. Now you may be wondering why I decided to change from waxing to epilating and the simple answer is that I wanted more freedom. Freedom to choose when to epilate my legs and the freedom to be able to do it when I wanted. And I’ve not looked back since. I love using my epilator and while they can take some time getting used to, the results are worth it.

But what about before the invention of waxing, epliatating and IPL technology? What did women do centuries ago to remove their unwanted body hair? Well if you’ve ever wondered that then the lovely people over at Panasonic have created an infographic just for you. From tweezers  and razors seashells or flint and stone to wax strips and IPL Technology, it’s amazing to see the different ways women have removed their body hair throughout the years.

Fab post. I have had laser hair removal done. And I use an epilator on some areas.
