Two High End Winter Foundation Favourites

High End Winter Foundation

Although I’m a big believer in the fact that you don’t have to spend a fortune on makeup to look good, I find you really get what you pay for when it comes to foundation. I’m a huge fan of drugstore blushers, bronzers, highlighters, eye shadows and mascara. When it comes to foundations I’ve yet to find one from the drugstore that I’ve loved as much as some of my higher end favourites. Regular readers of this blog will know that when it comes to foundations, I love a lighter finish on my skin. And the high end foundations that I love tend to have a feather light formula that just glides onto the skin. So if you’re also into your higher end foundations, here are two high end winter foundation favourites.

High End Winter Foundation

Nars Sheer Glow £31

I’m not sure why but it took me so long to try this foundation. But now I have it, I find myself using the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation all the time! Although you might think this would provide a ‘sheer glow’ finish, it actually has more of a medium coverage that leaves your skin looking flawless and glowing. With the added skincare benefits and the Nars Complexion Brightening Formula, this foundation leaves my skin feeling hydrated and looking more luminous. It’s perfect for giving me glowing skin at this time of year.

High End Winter Foundation

Giogrio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation £37

This is another foundation that took me forever for try. But now I have it’s a firm favourite in my makeup collection! The Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is just lovely. Yes it’s expensive but it’s worth it. With oil-free hydrating ingredients and micro-fil technology, the lightweight and silky texture just glides on effortlessly for a flawless all day coverage. It’s not too matte, or too dewy – it just looks like your skin but a lot better! Plus it has one of those magic pumps where it manages to dispense the perfect amount of foundation every time.

High End Winter Foundation

Do you prefer a high end or lower end foundation? What’s your favourite winter foundation to use?

I really want to try Luminous Silk, the name initially put me off because I don’t really go for “dewy” foundations but the Nars Sheer Glow is one of my favourites and so many people rave about the Armani LS I have to give it a try, especially after this post. Thanks for sharing, great foundations xxx

I actually have to try the NARS Sheer glow. Think I might order that today. Everyone always raves about it so it has to be a risk to take xo

I don’t actually use make-up. I used to do my eyes and nails as a teenager, and later in life if I was going out. I think I am a bit too lazy to do it everyday…
I also came across some scary articles about harmful chemicals and heavy metals hiding in cosmetics. It’s not an easy read, but it’s very informative http://www.collective-evolution.com/2012/04/10/you-have-the-right-to-know-17-chemicals-to-avoid-in-cosmetic-and-personal-care-products/

I love hearing other people’s opinions about make-up. I find it so difficult to make decisions about things like foundation so posts like this are really helpful.

I’m yet to try Nars foundation, but it sounds so lovely. Unfortunately I rely on high coverage though due to acne scarring that I feel self-conscious about otherwise! I know nothing about foundations though haha,

I flit between high end foundation and more affordable ones depending on the season. For the winter I need more coverage so I’m happy to spend a bit more.

I just run out of foundation, and I was actually really disappointed with it, so I am going to give the Nars one a try next.

I just don’t like drugstore foundations, I find higher end ones have a better finish, more choice of colour matches and last longer. I swear by Estee Lauder double wear at the moment. I can’t get on with the Nars one as I find it sticks to the dry patches on my skin x

I completely agree, you can’t scrimp on foundation but I’m more than happy with my £1 lipstick from MUA. I love Bare Minerals and Urban Decay for foundation but I really want to try the Nars one, I need to get a tester of it to check my colour though

Honestly I am a total waste when it comes to makeup, the most expensive I have bought was Bobbi brown foundation stick and I like it

My Chanel foundation is almost at an end, so I was thinking about trying something new out. I really like the idea of the Nars foundation, and it is around the same price bracket so, due to your review I think that is the one I am going to have a go at next! x

I don’t wear make up all the time but when I do I go for a mid price range one. I hate that clogged up feeling so it has to be light and easy to apply. me and heavy foundations do not agree.
