When it comes to fashion and beauty. There’s something incredibly luxurious, but also fun about Marc Jacobs. I’ve long been a fan of his quirky designs and stylish staples. So when he entered the world of beauty in 2013, to say I was excited was an understatement. His beauty collections are as beautiful as you’d imagine them to be. So beautiful that I’ve got a couple of his pieces in my collection. Including the Lolita eyeshadow palette and the Lip Creme. But the newest product in my collection isn’t a new product at all. It’s the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume mascara.

I’m not sure how this product managed to pass me by, but it has. As a mascara obsessive, I’m always on the hunt for a formula and brush that is going to add length, volume and definition to my lashes. And this mascara ticks all three! The lash-maximising curvy brush adds some serious volume. And the defining tip works to coat even the smallest of lashes for major drama. The formula features ultra-concentrated black pigment which delivers the drama. While the Flash Volume Complex creates instant, smudge-free length and volume in just a couple of strokes.

I have to say, I really love the fluttery look this mascara gives my lashes. Not only is it lengthening, but I find it separates them really well too. Which is what I need as I tend to sleep on one side, meaning a few lashes end up crisscrossing over each other during the night! Along with extra length, I love the volume that the mascara adds. It really doesn’t feel heavy on my lashes and lasts so well throughout the day without smudging or flaking. Which is seriously impressive!
You can get the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara for just £22 from John Lewis here.

Length and volume – sounds like a great recipe for a mascara! Marc Jacobs always seems like a great and luxurious brand!
Sounds like a great mascara – might have to pick it up!
I like a good mascara that can make my lashes flatter. I like the simple design too.
This sounds like a wonderful mascara! Great photos, too.
I don’t think I knew that Marc Jacobs did makeup. This mascara sounds lovely and a reasonable price too! It may have to make it’s way onto my Christmas list!
My mascara just gives me the clumpy look at the moment so I need a new one. I love a fluttery look so this sounds ideal
Great mascara is so important. I hate thick, clunky mascara that just doesn’t look natural! I’ll have to look into this one!
