Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

After a lot of hype, the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is finally here. It launched in Boots and Superdrug stores this January and I was very excited to get my hands on one. After all good primers are hard to find on the high street and for £7.99, this is considerably cheaper than the Benefit Porefessional that I currenly use.

Like the Benefit Porefessional, both primers are light serum like silica based products that help to create a soft, matte finish that acts to blur imperfections such as enlarged pores and fine lines. The Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is a clear silky gel that can either be applied onto bare skin or below your foundation. You can also apply it on top of your makeup to mattify the skin and fill in any pesky pores or fine lines.

I find that this primer is really good at creating a matte base, covering problem areas and aiding oil control. It applies so smooth onto the skin that any product that you add over the primer just glides on and stays put. Even when you use this on naked skin, it creates a natural, soft, almost photo-shopped effect – essentially, your skin but better – what more could you want?

Given the price of this compared to others on the market, I have to say that I think this will become an instant hit and I can’t wait to see what Maybelline bring out next.
