Now I don’t know about you, but 2021 has been quite a year, right? I mean I thought we’d left Covid back in 2020, but it seems we couldn’t escape it in 2021. And despite last year being the smallest Christmas I can remember, this year’s celebration won’t be that much bigger wither. Thanks to so many people isolating and wanting to spend Christmas in smaller groups. Maybe it’ll be different next year? Although I did say that last year…
But we move. I’m off to spend the day round my mum and step dad’s with my nan. We’ll play games, eat our Christmas dinner followed by quality street chasers. Drink too much and then collapse and watch some TV. Because that’s what Christmas is about isn’t it? Spending time with friends and family while you eat and drink far too much before snoozing in front of the TV.
Boxing Day would usually be spent round my dad’s but this year is different. I have no plans for Boxing Day so will just see where the day takes me. Although I’m guessing it’ll involve a lie in, followed by a chilled day at home catching up on more TV and eating yet more quality street.
I’m lucky enough to not be back to work until 4th January, so I can truly enjoy my break and get to spend time with the people I care about. I’ll also no doubt get some shopping in thanks to the Boxing Day sales so expects some hauls over on my Instagram.
Whatever you get up to, I hope you have a lovely day and remember it is just one day. If it doesn’t go as planned, or your day isn’t as expected, it is just one day. I think there’s a lot of pressure to have a big perfect Christmas but that’s not the reality for most of us. So whatever you get up to, have fun!
