I am a sucker for anything that claims to give my limp locks more volume, especially something that has a royal seal of approval, which is why I couldn’t wait to try the Richard Ward Keratin Bulking Spritz from his Chelsea Collection.

If you’re not aware already, Richard Ward is a celebrity hair stylist who has tamed the locks of many famous faces, including Kate Middleton and Poppy Delevingne. The Chelsea collection is his exclusive range that helps you achieve a luxurious, salon perfect finish in your own home. The secret to his collection is Keratin, which is the hair’s natural protein, and the key to healthy, glossy hair apparently. If that is the case, I need bucket loads of it. Using the latest in Keratin-infusion technology, the Chelsea Collection range is full of cleansing, conditioning and styling products that promise to replenish lost Keratin and rebuild your hair’s natural fibres for lustrous locks – which is exactly what I need.

I already use volumising products and have tried many in the past. Generally, I use a thickening spray and a bit of backcombing to add extra volume to my hair when my hair is dry. One of the steps I generally miss is applying a product at the root when my hair is wet. It seems so simple, but I’ve not found a product that can achieve this, until now that is.

After towel drying my hair, and roughly separating it into sections, I’ve been applying the Richard Ward Keratin Bulking Spritz to my roots and then working it down my hair. Then blow drying as normal. Since I’ve been using this I’ve noticed that my hair is instantly more voluminous and has a bit more bounce, which is ideal for a day to day look.

The Chelsea Collection is available online and in Waitrose Stores. Next on my list is to try their Shampoo and Conditioner.

Have you tried anything from the Richard Ward Chelsea Collection? What volumising products would you recommend?

This sounds good, a lot less messy than mousse on wet hair! I find if I use lots of products it weighs my hair down which makes it limp, so might be worth doing a weekly clarifying shampoo just to remove any build up 🙂 might help with volume!
