Adding colour for summer with the Rimmel super gel polishes

 Rimmel super gel polishes

Now that summer is on it’s way, it’s time to freshen up our nails and put away the deep plums and dark reds. And dig out the bright summer colours! And one of my favourite summer nail launches is from Rimmel. If you’ve not tried the Rimmel 2 Step Super Gel polishes before then you need to. Especially if you like the idea of gel nails that will go the distance without the need for a UV lamp. But with the added benefit of super shinny and long lasting gel nails. And their Super Gel Beach Ready collection is bound to get you ready for the sunshine.

The new range includes five incredibly wearable shades that I’ve been wearing on my nails for a few weeks now. And I love them all! The brush is slightly wider than other nail polish brushes which means you can get a nice even coat every time. The trick to these polishes is to allow each coat to dry before applying the next, or the top coat. The colours are true to the bottle and for most of them you only need to apply two thin coats. For Purple Splash and Coral Queen, I found three coats worked better for a more opaque look.

The five colours are:

  • Purple Splash: a pastel lilac
  • Sun Fun Daze: a raspberry pink
  • Coral Queen: a brighter orange
  • Dive Right In: a bright baby blue
  • Flamenco Beach: a blue toned red

Rimmel Super Gel Polishes

I normally get gel nails applied every few weeks, so my expectations were high with these. But I’m not disappointed. They’re not as thick as regular gel nails, but they do go the distance. I’ve not had them last a full 14 days, but they do last a good 7-10 days before chipping. Which I’m really impressed with. I find regular polishes only tend to last about four days before chipping.
The Rimmel Super Gel Polishes cost £5.99 and you can find them here.
What do you think of these polishes? Have you tried them before?

That lilac colour is beautiful! I’ve been looking for new nail polishes as I’ve finally been able to grow my nails and avoid biting them xx

I love bright nail colours in the summer, orange is one of my favourite shades to wear. I’ve never tried this range by Rimmel but I’m quite a fan of their Rita Ora collection so I might give these a go.

I love how bright and summery all these colours are. I am going to give these a try, as all my other nail polishes are rubbish and always chipping.

I was super excited about these until I read your have to really let them dry between coats and apply 3 coats. I just have no patience!!! Lovely colours though and a great review. I like how you have really tested them for 2 weeks – some bloggers literally just say ‘here is a product….’, which isn’t very helpful.

I want gel like nails without the faff so these would be perfect for me. I get lazy with my nails. I am that chip girl.
