Whether you blog about fashion, food or football, the content may be different but the blogger’s toolkit is the same. And by toolkit, I mean the essential pieces that allow you to blog about your passion. So here is what I consider to be the blogger’s toolkit:
Laptop
Aside from internet connection, this is probably the bread and butter of the toolkit. I recently upgraded from an old Sony to a shiny new HP and I couldn’t be happier. I’m a firm believer in that you don’t need the most expensive Mac Book out there to run a successful blog, and this HP laptop is perfect for what I need it for. I can’t live without it and probably couldn’t blog without it either.
Hard drive
Although no one likes to think it will happen to them, it could. And when your laptop just decides to die with no warning, all those pictures, videos and music that you’ve collected over the years will just disappear in an instant. That is why it is so important to back everything up. It is time consuming and sometimes a pain to do, but trust me, it is worth it.
Phone
My phone has definitely evolved over the years. I used to use as a phone. Now I use it mostly for social media. From checking Intagram, Twitter and Facebook every five minutes to watching YouTube videos, my phone is more than a phone now. Personally I use an iPhone and find that it’s ideal for staying social on social media as well as taking hundreds of pictures for Instagram.
Camera
For most people, photography is a huge part of their blog. It’s the first thing most people notice about your blog and one of the things that will keep readers coming back for more. When I started blogging I used an iPhone to take pictures. Then I moved onto a pretty expensive point and shot camera, before finally investing in a DSLR. I don’t believe you need a DSLR to take great pictures, but with the interest I now have in photography I knew having a DSLR would only help improve my blog photography.
Notepad and pen
Back to basics but I really couldn’t blog without a notebook and pen. I carry them both around me and I’m forever jotting down blog or video ideas in there on the go. Plus I love stationary and always need an excuse to pick up another lovely notebook.
So this is what is in my blogger’s toolkit. What’s in yours and are thee any other things you couldn’t blog without?

Those are exactly the same items in my toolkit – I can’t live without my laptop and camera! 🙂 x
I agree, without a camera and a laptop I just couldn’t blog x
i definitely agree on the notebook and pen as i carry it around with me all the time and can quickly jot down ideas
I know people can use their phones, but there is something special about using a notepad and pen x
A hard drive was one of my best finds, think my laptop was amount to collapse with all the images!

Mine was the same, it’s amazing how much space thousands of images can take up! x
