Happy Monday everyone! So last week I got to spend Thursday evening at the pretty amazing Real Techniques MultiTech Collection launch party. Now having been to fair few beauty launches in my time. I though I knew what to expect. But I have to say this launch party blew me away. It was set in a beautiful town house in Soho and featured makeup stations, a chance to customise your own brushes and a giant adult sized ball pit. Yes, a giant ball pit! And if that wasn’t enough the new brushes are pretty amazing too.
Now I own a lot of Real Techniques brushes and love to use them. And what’s great about this collection is that it’s about breaking the traditional makeup brush rules. Yes there are different brushes in the collection, but they’re not labelled up as the foundation brush, eyeshadow brush etc. Instead they’re all named after their size – from Point XXXS through to Point XXXL. So what’s in the collection?
The Small Point Set (£30)

Now as you might imagine from other small brushes you use, this set is perfect for detailing smaller areas of your face. There are four brushes in the kit and they are:
- Point S Brush – which you could use for all-over shade, concealer, contour lines or highlighter
- Point XS Brush – which you could use for colour correcting, concealer or crease shadow
- Point XXS Brush – which you could use for detailed highlighting, detailed shadow or lip blending
- Point XXXS Brush – which you could use for brow filling, smokey liner, smudged liner or lip detailing
The Point L Brush £16

As one of the larger brushes in the collection, you could use this for focused face application and blending. In fact I really like to use this for blusher and bronzers.
The Point XL Brush

As you can see I got to customise this brush at the event. And decided you really can’t wrong with gold letter and spots! As another bigger brush in the collection, you could use this for full face application and blending. Personally I’ve found this has been brilliant as a powder brush.
The Point XXL Brush £18

This is a huge brush, and would be fab for neck and body application and blending. I’ve not had a chance to try this one yet but would imagine it’s the perfect size for applying bronzer to your neck and chest area.
The Point Makeup Sponge £10

I really love the other Real Technique sponges I have so have high hopes for this one. I love that you can use the point of the sponge for detailed coverage and the round base to deliver a flawless blend.
As with all the brushes, and the sponge, the idea is that you can utilise the different angles for the different parts of your face. So you can use the tapered point to pick up product for a precise application, while using the wide base for blending.
I have to say having used these brushes a lot over the weekend they are my new favourites. They are incredibly soft and work well in picking up the right amount of product and blending it well. Plus I think the new white design makes them look pretty chic sitting on my dressing table.
You can see the whole collection here.

I have always used brushes according to the size I need rather than the names they are labelled. I guess this means a lot of other people must do the same. I haven’t used anything by this brand but I’m certainly tempted to indulge, they look great.
I love the design of these brushes! I may need to upgrade my real techniques brushes!
