When it comes to buying clothes, I long ago stopped buying things that were ‘fashionable’. Instead, I buy things that make me feel good. Things that I can’t stop thinking about. And things that I know will make me smile when I wear them. Why? Well because life is just too short to wear boring or ‘fashionable’ clothes to fit in with everyone else. I mean who wants to look the same anyway? The beauty of fashion is getting to express yourself through the clothes you choose to wear. And I’m definitely not alone in choosing to dress for myself. Rather than for others. I’m sure there are so many clothes in my wardrobe that would have people question my sanity for picking them. But I like that my clothes tell a story. Or remind me of a particular time or place.
And as I’m getting older I’m putting aside the fast fashion and investing in quality pieces that will stand the test of time. Like this beautiful coat. Now to say I’m excited to share this coat with you all is an understatement. As soon as I saw it in John Lewis a couple of weeks ago, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. Anyone else experience love at first sight with clothing? Or is it just me?! I mean this was my absolute coat of dreams. So when I noticed that John Lewis were price matching a competitors promotion. And you know I love a price match! I snapped this up in seconds. Becuase if you can’t stop thinking about it, it definitely means you should have it. Right?
And I’m so pleased I got the coat. Yes, it was a bit more money than I would normally spend on a coat. But it’s definitely worth the £229 price tag. I mean just look at how beautiful it is! If you’re interested in being coat twins, this coat is the RILLY. And it’s just uber glamorous. I love that it’s collarless, skims the hips and has hidden hook closures. And that the absolute best thing about this coat is the plush faux fur cuffs. Which just make me feel so god damn fancy!

I am a great believer in falling in love with your clothes, and quite frankly if you don’t, then I’m afraid you’re not in a great relationship with them. I can totally see why you are raving about this coat, it is truly lovely and you look wonderful in it. For me, buying a coat is a great whoo ha, and I have to find the right one. It can take hours, and many many shops. But you really do know the one when you find it, and looks like you’ve found your match.
