Three foundation alternatives to try this summer

Now I don’t know about you. But come the summer and warmer months. I push aside my heavier foundations. And out come the lighter, brighter and fresher looking BB and CC creams. With the chance of a heatwave (fingers crossed) and the prospect of a natural tan. A lighter formula is just what my skin wants at this time of year. Which is why I wanted to share with you all my three foundation alternatives to try this summer:

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Creme SPF 30 £19.50

La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Creme SPF 30

Now I don’t know about you, but during the summer months I’m prone to a fair bit of redness. Attractive right? Well I’ve found this little miracle product from La Roche-Posay is perfect for not only covering the appearance of redness. But it also colour corrects any flaws. Sounds impressive right? Well it is! It contains La Roche-Posay Therma Spring Water which is an anti-irritant, decongestant that makes it easy to blend over the skin. It’s also enriched with shea butter and glycerin for easy application and long lasting hydration.

The formula is also filled with waxes and oils to ensure a radiant and natural looking, oil free finish. And that’s exactly what it delivers. When I use this, I have a lovely flawless, yet natural looking coverage that reduces any redness around my nose and chin. Plus it even outs my skin’s pigmentation and minimises my pores. And if that isn’t enough, it also have a SPF 30.

KIKO Daily Protection BB Cream SPF 30  £9.90

KIKO Daily Protection BB Cream SPF 30

This is the newest BB cream in my collection, and also the cheapest. But this one from KIKO is just as impressive as the other two. Not only does it protect the skin with SPF 30 but it also perfects and moisturises the skin as well. The silky smooth formula is enriched with Sea Kale extract for the energising and protective properties. And once applied, it feels like a second skin, giving you buildable coverage for a smooth, natural finish.

Benefit Big Easy Complexion Perfector SPF 35 £31

Benefit Big Easy Complexion Perfector SPF 35

Now that the weather is starting to heat up, my heavy foundations are stored away and out come the light BB and CC Creams. But where this one from Benefit differs is that this is so much more than your average BB Cream. It balances, moisturises and controls oil, which is just what I need in the warmer months. Plus it’s also great for tackling shine, minimising the appearance of my pores and covering redness. I also love that it’s buildable so you can use it to conceal your problem areas. And although it has a silky formula that slips onto the skin, it leaves a velvet finish.

What do you think of these foundation alternatives for summer? What’s your favourite summer face product to use?

I’m not big on lighter foundations, bb creams and cc creams – I’m a full coverage gal at heart! I’m also not a huge benefit fan in general, but the Big Easy sounds great with it’s oil control promises, I may have to go have a play in store.
Love your photography in this post too!

These sound like a brilliant alternative to foundation which can be so heavy in summer! I especially love the look of the Benefit Complexion perfector

I love full coverage rather than a lighter look but I find the Rimmel better skin is amazing for a lighter touch!

I definitely need to invest in a new BB cream as I chucked my last one away as it was old. It would be a good alternative to foundation x

That Benefit one has piqued my interest. I’m not a BB or CC kinda gal (full coverage or nothing with these ridiculous freckles!) but I’m tempted to give this a go. x

They sound really good and the best part is the have a high sun factor many I have come across are just factor 15 so these are far more appealing to me.

The La Roche-Posay Rosaliac CC Creme sounds good to me. I like a good coverage foundation and feel it would last in the heat. I also like that it has a SPF 30 so my face is protected too
