What’s in my winter makeup bag

What's in my winter makeup bag

Now I don’t know about you, but I really can’t get my head around the fact that we’re in December. Christmas is just a few weeks away, and 2018 is almost over. While I’m excited for 2019, I’m not quite ready for 2018 to be over yet. But as we’re moving into winter it’s time to change up my makeup choices. Out go the pale lips and subtle glow, and in comes the shimmer and glitter. It is Christmas after all! So let’s take a look at what’s in my winter makeup bag.

HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT SURREAL LIGHT

Although I picked this palette up back at the end of 2016, I still find myself using it a lot. With five exclusive shades including a finishing powder, bronzer, blush and highlight this is the palette of my dreams. Literally. All the shades are really wearable and seem to suit my complexion at this time of year. Plus with it’s marble cover, it’s one of prettiest palettes I own.

GIORGIO ARMANI LUMINOUS SILK FOUNDATION

This is a relatively new addition to my makeup collection. And I have no idea why it took me so long to try this foundation – it’s just gorgeous! It’s incredibly lightweight to wear on the skin, but is heavy enough to cover all my blemishes and even out my skin tone. It honestly feels just like a second skin. It also blends beautifully, don’t cake and lasts really well throughout the whole day. Plus the colour match is like my skin, just better!

URBAN DECAY EYESHADOW PRIMER POTION

As someone with oily lids, believe me when I say that an eye primer is my best friend. But finding the perfect one had been tough. Until I tried this one from Urban Decay. It’s a light and silky cream that is used before you apply eyeshadow. By doing so you not only ensure that any product applied over the cream is prolonged in terms of wear, but the colour of the product is intensified too.

RIMMEL WAKE ME UP CONCEALER

I always seem to dig this concealer out when it gets to this time of year. I suffer with dark circles that seem to stay in place no matter how much sleep I get at night. Which at the moment is not many! But this concealer is pretty amazing in that it actually covers them! It hides my imperfections, stays in place all day and highlights as well. Although the formula is thick, it blends very quickly and easily in the under eye skin.

STILA MAGNIFICENT METALS GLITTER & GLOW LIQUID EYESHADOW

Now it wouldn’t be Christmas without some glitter would it? And this is the ultimate glitter shadow for me. It’s a long-wearing liquid sparkly eye shadow that is the perfect mix of pear and glitter tones. And once it’s on your lids, it doesn’t budge!

SOAP & GLORY SUPERCAT EYELINER

Now those that know me, know I love my eyeliner. And for me, one of my absolute favourites is the Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner. It’s honestly foolproof, and perfect for creating every liner look you want. The fine point for a natural look, or the thick edge for more of a dramatic festive look.

MARC JACOBS BEAUTY

This is probably one of my most used lip products. I love the dusty rose colour, and the fact that it’s incredibly long lasting and moisturising on the lips.

BY TERRY LASH-EXPERT TWIST MASCARA

Now it wouldn’t be a CHristmas makeup look with mascara. And this one from By Terry is perfect for giving your lashes some much needed volume this festive season. The mascara has a unique 2-step twist custom brush system that has transformed my lashes. The initial brush gives your lashes incredible length, but then you just twist the handle to transform the brush into a shorter spiraled shape that gives your lashes the volume you want. And what’s more the formula is extra-pigmented, buildable and features protective oils including jojoba and avocado which help to moisturise your lashes and prevent breakages.

So that’s what’s in my winter makeup bag. What’s in your?
