Why everyone needs a pair of black skinny jeans in their wardrobe

When it comes to wardrobe staples, there are a few things that everyone needs in their life – a good pair of boots, a little black dress and a good pair of jeans. Whether it’s bootleg jeans, boyfriend jeans, flares or skinny jeans, everyone needs a pair of jeans in their wardrobe. But finding a style that can suit you is hard and it’s even tougher to find a pair that fit perfectly. Maybe it’s the New Year New Me thing again but I was feeling like a change and decided to add some black skinny jeans to my wardrobe. Now I’ve been put off by skinny jeans in the past thinking I’m not skinny enough to pull them off, but trying these has completely changes my mind and made me feel like everyone needs a pair of black skinny jeans in their wardrobe. There so versatile, I can dress them up or dress them down. What do you think of the two outfit choices below?

Dressing up black skinny jeans

I feel like this is a great ‘going for drinks after work’ or a ‘dinner with friends’ look. These black skinny jeans are from House of Fraser and they are so comfy. They’re more of a jegging than a hard denim jean but it just means they fit really well and are incredibly comfy to wear. I’ve team these with my favourite black heels from Next, a new purple top from Oasis, faux leather jacket from New Look and a Primark Skull bag.

Dressing down black skinny jeans

This is pretty much my weekend attire. A relaxed look that doesn’t take too much effort and is incredibly comfy. For this look I’ve teamed the skinny jeans with my trusty Converse, a stripy jumper from Oasis, a beige jacket from Dorothy Perkins, my burgundy hat from Miss Selfridge and my lovely DKNY Bryant Park bag.

Black skinny jeans are pretty much what I live in and I think they’re flattering on all shapes and sizes. I’m not a small girl but I don’t think i’ve worn anything other than variations of skinny jeans for about 10 years! x

I love my skinny black jeans from River Island. I love to wear them with this long green silk blouse I have when I’m going out when I’m too lazy to get all glammed up. They are so versatile, I need to invest in another pair.

I always wear black skinny jeans now – they are my go to style. I too wasn’t sure about them for my size, but i actually find them the most flattering shape for me. Have you tried the Dorothy Perkins Eden jegging? – they are great and fit like a glove. Perfect item x
