For this week’s blog advice post I wanted to do something a little different. I’m sure regular readers of my blog would have noticed that over the past few weeks I’ve struggled to produce a blog post and new content everyday. And it’s not just a case of not having the time or energy to post everyday. But it’s also because I haven’t felt inspired. I don’t want to be posting on here for the sake of it. I just feel that wouldn’t be fair to you all. So I just haven’t posted as often as I would have like to. And do you know what I’ve realised? That it doesn’t matter.
I used to think that to keep my readership, or to attract new opportunities I had to post everyday without fail. But I don’t think that’s the case. Of course regular updates are important. But it’s also OK to take a break every now and then.
I’m a big believer that when it comes to content, quality is far more important than quality. I wouldn’t feel comfortable or happy with pushing out average or mediocre posts just to keep in the habit of posting everyday. And actually taking a short break has reignited the blogging spark within in me, so now I’m back and raring to go with lots of new blog posts!
What are your thoughts on taking short blogging breaks?
If you enjoy reading my blog posts it would be amazing if you could take a moment to nominate me for the ‘Best in Beauty’ category in the Cosmopolitan awards here. I will love you forever!

I love this post! It’s definitely ok to take a break to energise yourself and find new ideas and get creative.

I took a fairly long bloggers break recently, I was away for about two months. My Klout score suffered a fair bit, but I’ve come back feeling so inspired and motivated to create great blog content. My whole blog has headed off in a slight new direction as well that gives me more freedom with posts. I think every one needs a little break now and then! Ray xx
I’ve taken loads of blogging breaks, just so I can deal with the stress of work and university. I normally have someone guest post for me while I break of have at least one scheduled post if I’m going for a week or so.
I’m currently having a little ‘step back’ I’m still posting I’m just not as active on social media at the moment.
We all need a little rest now and then

This is all so true. I try to post everyday but at most I can produce 6 posts a week and I always feel guilty the day that I don’t post and I don’t know why! I agree that taking a break is important – if you force yourself to produce posts the quality of writing goes down and readers notice! xxx
