Why the Beautyblender is worth the hype

Beautyblender

When it comes to cult favourite makeup tools, I’m not sure it’s gets much bigger than the Beautyblender. In fact I’m not sure how I’ve managed to run this blog for almost four years and not try the beauty blender. Maybe it’s because I love to use a buffing brush to apply foundation. Or maybe it’s because the beauty blender is not the cheapest of makeup sponges on the market. Whatever the reason, last month I finally caved in and bought the original Beautyblender and the mini Beautyblenders. And I’m so glad I did!

Beautyblender

If you’ve been living under a beauty rock, Beautyblenders were created by two top Hollywood makeup artists to give a flawless airbrush finish to your complexion. Now I’ve been using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge for a while, but the Beautyblender is just generally nicer to use. You can use it dry to lower the shine or use it wet to amp up the glow. The pointy end is perfect for getting into those nooks and crannies of your face. And as it’s wider on the bottom, you can cover more areas when applying your foundation. Plus, it feels softer on the skin and expands more than the Real Techniques one when it’s wet.

Beautyblender

And if you love the original Beautyblender, then you’ll love these mini Beautyblenders! Just like the bigger version, these are perfect for accessing the smaller contours of your face. And as they’re smaller, you can use these to effortless blend cream contour, crème blush or even eyeshadow for a flawless finish.

So are Beautyblenders worth the hype? Absolutely. I just can’t believe I waited so long before picking one up.

Have you tried a Beautyblender before?

I love those tiny beauty blenders! So cute! I’m not a big fan of foundation but this would definitely help to jump in it.

I really need to get a new one, although I have been meaning to try the RT Real Complexion sponge as well. I think Primark have a “dupe” for 75p, I watched a video where Lily Melrose compared the two. You can really tell the difference, I think the beauty blender spreads the product better and more evenly allowing you to use less product but still obtain a good coverage. Great post! I have been wondering how it compares to the RT sponge xxx

Although I’m not familiar with most folks named above, I do regret losing Ager and Symntek, for entirely different reasons. Susan was one of the strongest columnists, and John the master of snark. Best wishes to all for a brighter future.
