Why the Real Techniques Bold Metals Brushes are worth the money

I’ve been lusting over these makeup brushes for so long now. Ever since they launched last year, I’ve wanted the gorgeous Real Techniques Bold Metals makeup brushes in my collection. But with the prices ranging from £10 to £25 per brush, I just wasn’t sure if they were worth it. But as you may have seen from my ‘What I got for Christmas’ video, I was lucky enough to receive these as a present, and having used these for the past month now, it’s safe to say the Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes are worth the money.

The Real Techniques Bold Metals Essentials Collection contains three Bold Metals brushes, including one limited edition brush. It also comes with a pouch for you to store the brushes in if you want.

103 Angled Powder Brush

This is the exclusive brush within this collection and has a large angled head with the gold coloured handle. Like with all of these Bold Metals brushes, the bristles of this brush are very full and incredibly soft, making it perfect for setting your base makeup in place. It picks up powders easily and lightly and blends onto the skin effortlessly.

300 Tapered Brush

This is my favourite brush from the collection. It has a specially designed tip which can be used to highlight or add blush across the cheeks for a seamless finish. The tip is perfect for blending highlighter across the cheeks and the brush fits my cheekbones perfectly for contouring as well.

200 Oval Shadow Brush

Although this brush is quite large for an eyeshadow brush, it’s brilliant for applying eyeshadow across the lid or using it to blend eyeshadow in the crease. In fact I’ve loved using this so much that my much loved and well used MAC 217 brush has been aside for this beauty. It’s also a great brush for blending concealer underneath they eyes.

All the brushes in this collection have a weighted stem which makes them really comfortable to hold and as the handles go down to a point at the end, the brushes won’t roll off your dressing table while you apply your makeup. The brushes are also made with ultra high grade synthetic bristles, meaning you can use these with cream, liquid or powder products and are so soft, but also dense so they pick up and apply the product with ease.

Now that I have these three brushes in my collection, it really won’t be long before I complete the set. I love using these brushes and even think they make my makeup look better because I’m using them. Yes they are most expensive than their other brushes, but the Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes are worth the money.

I picked up this collect as well when it was on offer in Boots. I love the Angled Powder Brush and find it perfect for bronzing my face, neck and cheekbones.

I think it’s so easy to write off brushes as too expensive until you actually see the difference they make. These sound amazing and they’re definitely on my wishlist. I have a couple of Illamasqua brushes that were pricey but they’ve lasted me ages! Investing in good brushes is definitely worth it in my opinion :).

It’s nice to hear a review saying that they really are worth the money, because when they first came out there was definitely a lot of mixed reviews!

Like you, I felt the brushes were just too expensive and I bought one of the cheaper ones to have a good go at figuring out whether or not they’re worth it. I’ve had the pointed crease brush for over a year now and it’s just never the one I reach for, it’s super stiff and I feel so let down by the quality of the brush considering the money I spent on it. My Zoeva brushes do a much better job!

You might have convinced me to purchase the powder brush, though, that one looks lovely!

These brushes look great! I love the original line from Real Techniques but am a little nervous about picking these up as I’m not sure my wrists would manage the extra weight & I don’t want to pay the extra money to find out. I’ll have to see if one of my friends owns them & it they’d mimd me trying them out before making a purchase. Xx
